G.W. BIRDSONG The Boy Evangelist from Golden Pond, Kentucky

This is the story of G.W. Birdsong's life as he grew up in the land between the rivers near Paducah, Kentucky. G.W.'s father and older brothers made their living churning out moonshine from their stills, selling much of it to out-of-state buyers. He was the youngest of seven siblings and was very close to his mother, who was a good Christian lady. At the young age of eleven, G.W. walked the aisle at the little country Baptist church they walked to every Sunday and gave his heart and life to the Lord. Just a few weeks later, he and his brother, Dan, began visiting a revival a few miles from their home, led by an old-fashioned Holiness preacher. Within a few weeks, they had decided to join the Holiness people. They began traveling and singing for revivals all the way to California. G.W. started preaching at the age of fifteen years, and he and Dan began to travel as full-time evangelists all over the world. The book follows G.W.'s life from his birth until he went to be with Jesus at the age of eighty-seven. Read more
