Product Description Tested just before the outbreak of WWII, the TBF Avenger was first deployed during the Battle of Midway in 1942. The Avenger was the heaviest single-engine aircraft of its time, and it was also the first to feature a compound wing folding mechanism, which helped maximize space on aircraft carriers.
